Do you use the compost only for plants or also for growing vegetables?

Added bonus with lettuce is that you don't need to harvest the entire plant. Just cut free the outer leaves and the plant grows more to fill in. Then only harvest the plant when it looks like it's going to bolt.

Shouldn't you have your driplines under the dirt to avoid fungal growth?

That mower can't be found in Amazon. I have tried 4 times. Was checking for the price.

The biggest problem with these mowers, not that they are bad concepts or even bad executions. They have their use case, that being already well groomed, maintained, seeded yards. i.e. your nice fescue, bermuda, zoysia, etc that has already been well maintained, has low amount of weeds and isnt grown out of control. Main reason for this is the blade design not being like a conventional mower that creates tons of lift to pull the grass, weeds etc into the blades.

Alternate title: "what it would be like for a robot to have to mow my lawn if even waiting 3 or 4 days between mows"

My problem is that the door on mine warps in the heat, so that the door has a tighter curve that the barrel. Very difficult to latch. Anybody else have this problem? I used a black 55 gallon drum.

This was the best review of the Luba 2 I have seen. Especially in comparing it against the Luba 1. I am considering buying one but the price is prohibitive. I just hate mowing so much that if it works well enough, I may get one. You did a good job showing the issues. You also showed many things like the blades working and going up and down I have never seen. I will be checking out your other videos and my even subscribe. Thanks

Where is the material and cut list?

Kind of elaborate but i was interested . I have that same Harbor Freight pump but i was going to make my own pump from abs so i can stick the pump in my tank hook it inside and have a stainless shaft i drive it from outside the tank . So when i hook up my hose it will hook directly to the hose bib on the water tank. The motor will be similar but may be Dc with a supply which i seal . This way it saves me all the digging and it will pump out directly from my tank. I want a victory garden like your doing. Enjoyed your hard work. Seems to do the trick . I also want a timer to turn on/off at certain times so i won't have to remember to water.

Nicely done. I did a slightly different method, but like yours better. I bot a cheap sump pump which was designed to remain under water, and put the pump INSIDE the water barrel. I then fitted the small hose (fabricated with repair ends) from the pump to the threaded interior of my faucet in the rain barrel. Right now I have an extension cord that I plug the pump into (wire runs out the top of the barrel). I do plan to put up romex in a conduit to a switch and eliminate the plug in. I like your method better because you don't have a 15 amp current running thru the water straight to ground if something goes awry. I had not thought of putting a separate box for components outside the barrel. I thought yours was well thought out. I have a separate two barrel system out in back of my house with water running off the tin roofs of my two sheds. I might try your system on those. Thank you for the well done vid.

So I did this and immediately found 2 problems. 1. When the barrel was about a 1/4 full it did not want to turn without great difficulty. and 2. Once it was about halfway full, the barrel collapsed around the casters making it impossible to turn. My only solution at this point was to leave it on the ground. I can roll it a little easier and it no longer collapses due to greater surface area. The theory is great but reality is just not there. What are you doing now for compost?

I made this one with some changes from other videos. However thankfully I DID NOT put half inch holes all over for aeration, as some videos recommend, but instead put 8" dia .holes at each end like in this video with aluminum screening over them sealed at any gaps with construction adhesive. These barrels can become a housefly breeding mecca, and half inch holes would allow uninterrupted travel.

Keep in mind some states, think Colorado, prohibit rain water collection.

I have a 6k[]’ backyard and am trying to estimate how long it will take to mow . . . * with the Luba1 - with different Cutting SPEEDS between the 3000 vs 5000 - I would have picked the 5000. * with the Luba2 - it seems that that 3000/5000/10000 all Cut (and charge) at the same Rate; and that the Cutting CAPACITY has to do with its Brain (Zone Mgt) [ ] How long do you think that it will take to Mow 6k[ ]’ ? [ ] Would it be One Charge ? [ ] Or require a Re-Charge + a Finishing Period of Time? ( I can’t find this information after hours of browsing. Thank you for your time and kind consideration )

My 2 cents. A half moon sheet of plywood at either end would be better than the blocks to stop it from falling off table. and the half moons would allow access to the screw on on Gama cover to add material. Half moons would also allow a pvc handle to turn barrel at other end. Overall great job though.
